Beautifully hand-painted cold-cast resin.When Egyptians prepared bodies for mummification, certain internal organs were removed and carefully stored in sacred Canopic Jars, each assigned to a different magical genii protector. These genii were the human sons of the falcon god Horus. Through the centuries of usage there were many variations in depiction and assignment, but generally, Kebehsenuef guarded the intestines, represented the West and was associated with the guardian goddess Selket. He was usually depicted with a falcons head, an associated with the city of Hierakonpolis.
